Finally! Spring is here and I don’t know about you, but thinking about the warmer months ahead has me feeling like a kid excited about Christmas time, smiling from ear to ear every time I feel a warm breeze. Now as you’re planning picnics and braai’s, you should also be thinking about what to wear to these of course. Thankfully, many of the trends that were in style for winter are still going to be in full force through spring; with a few modifications here & there. I’ve picked 5 winter trends you can switch up for sthpse warmer days headed our way…
The monochromatic look is one I enjoyed, as it could be worn in so many different ways, girly, sporty, tailored, etc. And moving into spring one can go with any spring silhouettes, using panels, prints or patterns to achieve the monochromatic look.
The sporty look is one we became too familiar with this winter, with college baseball jackets and pull over sweaters keeping us all warm & snug. For moving into spring you can wear oversized baseball tops, drop waist tennis dresses & can dust off those wedge sneakers or pinch your boyfriends cap to finish off the look.
Stripes are in almost every year, but this time they were bigger & bolder, coming mainly in black & white in winter, but for spring the stripes come in other colours like red, cobalt blue etc. and I’ve never really been much of a nautical fan, but I’m just loving the vertical stripes.
Geometric prints is another print trend that was huge and is still seen coming through for spring, think square & interesting triangle prints and all that calculated creativeness we had in winter and get that on a midi (below the knee) dress, mini skirt or slouchy racer vest.
Lastly, but definately not least, one of my favourite trends for winter, luxe leather. From jackets, pants & inset/panel leggings make sure you try this fabrication in a figure hugging mini skirt, shorts or a tank/bra top.
As you all get to spring cleaning and packing all that winter stuff away, make sure you’re sure to leave a few the stuff I’ve mentioned out, ok! Well thats it for my top trends for transitioning…
Happy spring yal!
