Flu Fighter!

It’s that time of year when everyone or someone is not quite feeling well with colds, sore throats, body aches, and headaches. As much as we try to avoid becoming ill, eventually the cold catches us at least once per year, and it’s usually when we’re most stressed.

Lemon, honey and ginger tea, a classic home-style treat that helps ease cold and flu symptoms. As pretty as the name sounds, this is actually a bittersweet tea that goes down mighty spicy as it soothes a sore throat.

Well, you probably know that lemon is high in Vitamin C, an antioxidant that is vital for a strong immune system, ginger has therapeutic properties, acting as an antioxidant, which promotes healthy sweating that helps in the detoxing of the body, and sweet honey (my fave) has a soothing effect on sore throats, making it an effective and natural cough reliever and it can also boost the body’s immune system by helping to produce white blood cells, which help fight infection.

Every household has their own version of this tea, I like to add some fresh garlic in the mix. Someone once suggested adding fresh rosemary and another some cayenne pepper, which is said to reduce body aches.
This concoction is full of nutrients that help boost the immune system and much more, so it can also provide health benefits for those not suffering from a cold or flu, helps give your body a natural boost and will help one not only look great, but feel great and healthy too.
