Sister x Sister

The February issue of SA’s Elle magazine celebrates the bond sister’s share, highlighting popular pairs from across the globe, who have succeeded either together or on their own, in the entertainment and/or fashion worlds.

An article by Tidi Benbenisti, opens with “much like love, sisterhood makes the world go round” , opened my eyes to a few details of some of the celebrated sisters I have gotten to know through the media over the years.

More than anything reading through this issue of Elle made me recognise my bond with my sisters in a new light. A partnership, similar to that most seek in a spouse they look to share their lives with, that will cheer them on, stay up til late talking about random experiences of life, be a shoulder to cry on, celebrate the successes in life… you know, just be there through the good times and bad.

Like any relationship it’s not always all sunshine and daisy-filled pathways, but lets be honest, with all the DMC’s, dressing up, hugs and girly stuff…  the bond between sisters is a truly remarkable and special one, like no other. Be sure to check out the pics from the impromtu photo shoot I did with one of my sisters for a random roadtrip and get yourself a copy of this months Elle magazine if you haven’t already.

Through Shaded Eyes (TSE) is the brainchild of Tokelo Motsepe. A retail buyer and digital strategist with an addiction to blogging, this blog is a platform for my style, life and love for fashion to be shared. What started as an escape from the hustle and bustle of the world, has now become a place to let out my passion for fashion & writing, in-between time spent at work, traveling, or doing everything else life throws at me… it has become a form of expression and I hope it can inspire and encourage you to also share!
