The Tart show at MBFWCT was one of my favourites, yes my view may be a little bias with the relationship I have with the brand and all, but it no doubt had me itching to shop some of the looks straight off the runway to get my wardrobe ready for summer.
The collection, done by Cari Stephenson was inspired by the feather effect created by the fringing done for MBFWJ AW15 and the idea of birds of paradise in flight.
“Approaching the elements I find appealing in clothing- colour, movement, asymmetry and ease- from this point of view, this collection incorporates spiral cuts, solid slashes of Macaw inspired colour, swooping hemlines and a degree of restraint, as the natural, blissful freedom of these beautiful creatures is emphasised by the contrasting bonds of their captive counterparts. We will also launch a capsule collection, to be available online, consisting of reworked tart favourites.”
What I loved most about this show is how there is literally something for everyone, flowing maxi’s, high hemlines, sexy exposed backs, both slouchy and body hugging silhouettes.
Best of all, the different looks could see one go from a lunch date, to the beach and those tasteful tassled styles that can easily be worn to a glam do after hours, which girl wouldn’t love that?
Then, after the lights had dimmed and we all thought it was all done and dusted, new music came on and the show was closed with an interesting twist. A squad of rebellious looking vixens, that looked worthy of being bff’s with bad girl model Cara Delevingne came charging down the runway wearing the designers ready-to-wear range to be available for all to buy on Zando HERE from when the show closed.
