I was asked to be a featured Voice on online magazine A Fashion Friend and wrote a couple of pieces for them on anything fashion focused. I was away for the last while and upon my return to the cold Cape, it brought to mind my letter to summer, and I thought I’d share it here with you guys:
My Dearest summer…
Seasons are changing and the dream that is you is just around the corner.
I must admit I always find this transitional period between you seasons to be the worst, it almost feels like you and in a tug of war with the Ice Queen; the temperature outside says it’s time for some fun in the sun, but then that cold breeze hits, it serves as a stark reminder who still rules and that we’re not quite there yet.
Getting dressed for this testy time can also be a headache, I mean, you know I enjoy perfecting the art of layering a bit more than the next person, but man oh man the way my laundry load has just doubled up over the last while, sigh.
My favourite thing to wear when the weather is suffering from mood swings like this has to be chunky knitwear. Easy to layer without feeling like I’m wearing a truckload, yet still warm enough to ensure you don’t catch a cold, which is exactly what I needed when I recently decided to just go out to the beach regardless of you being a no show for the last while. Though I have to say, the beach just was not the same without you old friend.
I can’t wait till we are reunited and look forward to the memories that will be made.
Yours Sincerely,
The Girl that sees life Through Shaded Eyes

Awwn too cute. I love the letter. But I live in Nigeria, so it is mostly summer. The pictures are so beautiful and I love what you are wearing.
