It’s Monday morning and I’ve put on one of my new favourite shirts on, with a pair of dark blue skinny jeans for work and I can’t help but think back to the day I first wore this shirt about a week ago.
The experience of that day was shared on the Old Khaki blog (here) and I thought I would share it on here for those who might have missed it.
One of my resolutions this year is to see more of our beautiful country with more local travels. By just making the time on weekends to go out and explore more, be it driving out to a beach I haven’t been to before, learning something new like surfing or trying out a new hiking trail; the aim is to become a local tourist.

And the key to any outing has to be the right outfit of course.
There’s nothing worse than being on a hike in uncomfortable shoes or worse than being at the beach without a swimsuit, because even though you may get through the experience, it’s all the more enjoyable when you are appropriately dressed for whatever it is you’re up to.
My inner-city exploration of the cobblestoned streets of Bo-Kaap (a neighbourhood in Cape Town best-known for its colourfully painted homes), was enjoyed in a cool shirt nicked from the men’s side of my favourite Old Khaki store, worn with a pair of loose-fitting shorts were equally as comfy and went perfectly with my sandals.

Lots of walking was done, just learning about the history of the area and trying out some Cape Malay cuisine and snapping pictures left right and centre. Who knows were the road will lead to next.
