I’m still hanging from my fashion week fix this passed weekend. The visuals from the event are still streaming down my various timelines as people continue to share their experiences. Mine, went something like this…
I stepped onto the bustling Nelson Mandela Square early Saturday afternoon (due to work and flight delays, I couldn’t make it to the shows on Friday evening), in my blue black ensemble by local brand Tart. A bit overwhelmed by the fashionably clad crowd outside the #mbfwj marquee, I was happy to bump into some familiar faces, I did some catching up with before the first show. It wasn’t long before my tassled Tart got in the way of that, with photogs and bloggers wanting to steal shots and find out who made it.. which made for a great way to get to chatting to some fashion industry folk.
Onto the action inside the marquee where all the magic happened, I enjoyed watching the latest offerings from some of my fashion favourites like Selfi, Scalo and Tsotetsi, to name a few.
But my favourite had to be the AFI Fastrack show where we saw the work of some very talented new designers, which has me excited about the future of SA fashion.
Congratulations to Chesney Day Williams, Karabo Joas Mokgaothleng, Tayla Shan and Velly Setshego Maswanganye on being the top 4 to be taken forward.
