I sit staring out the aeroplane window sipping on a cup of rooibos tea, and all I see it blue… blue skies met by the blue sea; a sight I haven’t seen in ages.
Travel is one of the few things that excites my everything, right up there with peanut butter ice cream, wearing a new pair of heels and spending time with those close to my heart. And as I sit on this ten hour long flight, etching closer and closer to my destination, a lot is going through my mind.
How much ground we’ve covered, what time my next [connecting] flight is, trying to work out the time difference, whether I practiced my Spanish enough to get me by *sigh*… things I need to get through before all the fun beginnings; though thoughts of what lies ahead creep in now and then.
Seeing how people live and do things is what I love discovering most, like learning what the eat, drink and a bit about their history, how they dress, shop and get around (transportation), what they do for fun, etc. Soaking all that up, puts a lot into perspective for me, especially when travelling to developing countries, it’s made realise we don’t necessarily have it as bad as we think and look at things an a more appreciative light.
I don’t know what awaits me where I am headed, cause the thrilling part with these developing countries is how we don’t often see visuals of what the everyday life looks like in the media. So as this plane floats closer and closer to South America, I get more and more excited!
Any ideas on where I may be going?

Spanish is the official language in a few of the South American countries. Developing countries? I think you going to Chile? or Venezuela:)
