GH x SA #collabo

Collaboration is Key.

As you may have seen on my social platforms, I was recently in Accra, Ghana to attend the Ghana Fashion & Design Week. While there I linked up with travel blogger April of ‘Travel with April’ to properly experience the city from the perspective of a local and I also met up with style blogger Afua Rida for a style shoot.

We went to Jamestown one afternoon, with looks by Ghanaian designer Mina Evans on hand and photographer Jeffrey Quaye ready to bring the best of SA and Ghana to life.

I mixed in a Tart Clothing fringe skirt with a sexy satin top from Mina Evans for my look and Afua wore a dress also from Mina Evans to bring to life the beautiful black elements of designers from our respective home countries.

I love how this trip opened me up to more African designers creating beautiful creations #madeinafrica ..and I hope that with more travels into other countries in Africans I will continue to be exposed to more designers and brands I can get to know and wear.

Do you wear any locally produced products?

Through Shaded Eyes (TSE) is the brainchild of Tokelo Motsepe. A retail buyer and digital strategist with an addiction to blogging, this blog is a platform for my style, life and love for fashion to be shared. What started as an escape from the hustle and bustle of the world, has now become a place to let out my passion for fashion & writing, in-between time spent at work, traveling, or doing everything else life throws at me… it has become a form of expression and I hope it can inspire and encourage you to also share!
