As most of you may have seen through my instagram feed, I haven’t quite gotten over my recent cross-country road trip.
In all honesty, I almost feel like my body is on auto-pilot, with it going to work, even gym and getting into the new year; my mind on the other hand is suffering from constant flashbacks of my wonderful summer break. I shared the first major part of the road trip from Cape Town to Bloemfontein and on to my home town Tshwane with you guys HERE, and though its a bit late, I figured I’d share some of the rest of the trip.
It got quite busy after arriving in Gauteng, with the days from then on being jam-packed with time with family. From there we went to Tholeni, then down to the coast of Durban (both in KZN), where a couple of days were enjoyed and then on to Grahamstown, before going through the beautiful Garden Route and on to Cape Town.
Time was enjoyed eating, talking up a storm in a bid to catch up, swimming, eating, looking through the camera lens and playing around in front of it, playing board games, meeting some new family, recording mannequin challenge videos (lol), eating some more lol I ate quite a bit in the last couple of weeks, and not the stuff that’s good for you, but you only live once right?!
Sad part was seeing all the dried up dams along the way. The drought has been talked about and all over the news for quite some time and we have all been aware of restrictions on water usage and stuff, but nothing drives a point home quite like seeing with your own eyes how there is little if not zero water in a lot of dams and rivers across our country.
Otherwise, a great time was had and though my clothes are uncomfortably tight lately, I’m sure all will get back to normal soon enough; trust me when I say, I wouldn’t change anything in the last couple of weeks for anything… well… maybe just the part where I lost my phone in the ocean on the first day of this year, but that is a story for another day.
