Making Waves

Spring is in the air and with it comes a new wind of change. It’s been cold for far too long and it’s time to peel off the layers worn daily and reveal a new me, a me that is now revitalized and renewed and longing to soak up the sun, laze on beautiful beaches and enjoy hot summer nights out. I went out to enjoy the day by the beach, not quite in the way that I hoped though; as it wasn’t quite warm enough to be on the beach for me to enjoy the water, but was close enough. I feel the mix of blue hues in my stripes on stripes ensemble had me making my own waves as I went about my day. My accessory overload all from American Swiss, helped add a glisten to my look, which resembled that of the sun reflecting on water; and the little charms on my rings and bracelets adding some spring to my fingertips, with little sparkly butterflies and flowers. The silver accessories also made …

The Wrap Life

So it’s been a couple of weeks now with this hair is I’ve gotten quite used to it, so used to it in fact it’s beginning to irritate me a bit, constantly getting in my face and I wear it up in a high bun on most days. Wearing a plain bun gets a bit boring now and then, so I like to mix it up a bit and bring some colour through to give it a bit of life. Not all my head wraps are big enough to hold these braids (cause they are so chunky), so the range of prints I have to play with is small; hence my wearing this one quite a bit lately, it’s my favourite. This look is pretty simple, I styled a new pair of dark washed jeans (that butt shaping pair from Dunns I shared on insta here, what do you think?), with a vest in this new spicy colour I’m loving and my strappy block heels from Country Road. By the way, a few of you …

The Simple Things

One of my favourite parts of my day has to be coming back to my home after a long day. Sipping on a hot cup of tea with my feet up on the couch makes for the perfect ending. I was asked to share some of the simple things that bring joy to my life, watch my short video on my instagram, where I share just that. In this video I’m wearing this beautiful wine coloured dress with these big, voluminous sleeves that I can’t get enough of, but the black block heels have to be my favourite – so on trend, yet quite classic! It’s the simple rope type detail on the shoe that gets me, the leather is so soft and comfy and the black colour will perfectly compliment whatever outfit I choose to wear them with. #countryroadstyle

Dark Angel #mbfwj

Last week was the Mercedes-Benz Fashion Week in Johannesburg for Spring/Summer and though work through a spanner in my works, I was able to make it to the last day of the shows and my look for the day [like the rest of my week lol] was more on the dark side. As you may already know, I have a slight obsession with fringing and Tart Clothing knows how to hold a sister down, with its unique pieces that just keep me coming back for more, and this time I decided to wear this little black number a different way.   The weather was working with me, and I didn’t need to wear something warmer underneath, and could show off the bare back of the dress, but I love that if I needed to, I could have easily layered up. I traded my slinky heels for my go-to chunky black leather boots, and I must say my feet were uber pleased with me, considering all the walking around I did lol. Cedric Nzaka of Everyday …

Made You Look!

Since getting back to Cape Town from Colombia saw me caught up with tryna get up to speed with all that happened while I was away. For the first time in a long time, I enjoyed a holiday, free of having to check emails and messages out fear of coming back to a catastrophe and it was really great and well worth it; but it came at a price. Nothing too hectic, but I must say getting caught up in playing catch up saw me neglecting my blog a little bit. I have been better with updating my other social platforms, so if you don’t already follow me of FB, twitter, insta and snapchat, then please take a moment to click on the links at the end of this post to do that, cause you’re really missing out fam; and I share different stuff on textured different pages sooo.. ya! Anyway, Cedric Nzaka of Everyday People Stories popped into town for a couple of days and it got me to pull myself out of that …
